FIT 0/16 and Pueri Expo: Top result for new trade fair duo in Brazil

  • About 6,000trade visitors from Brazil and South America
  • 138 national and international brands from 12 countries
  • High level of satisfaction among visitors and exhibitors

Great success for Koelnmesse in Brazil: the first-time trade fair duo consisting of the well-established trade show for baby and children wear, FIT 0/16, and the new Kind + Jugend satellite event, Pueri Expo, is the novel hotspot on South America’s market for baby and child products. This is confirmed by the figures of the simultaneously staged trade fairs: After closing the doors of the trade fair duo in São Paulo on 6 June 2016, the organizer Koelnmesse counted about 6,000trade visitors from Brazil and South America, who experienced 138 national and international brands from the sectors of kids' fashion, childcare and toys. “I am happy that we were able to set up a successful premiere event inspired by our leading trade fair Kind + Jugend with a top result despite the difficult economic situation in Brazil”, said Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH. “The presence of high quality visitors from South America and international top brands, plus the satisfaction among all trade fair participants show that we have put the trade fair duo on the right track to becoming the leading platform of the sector in Latin America.”

Market leading fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger Kids, Calvin Klein Jeans and Authoria were exhibiting together with the childcare brands ABC Design, Dorel Juvenile, Ergobaby, Kidkraft, Trunki and many more. Amongst the trade visitors all important distributors of the Brazilian market were present at the show. The complementary concept of the trade fair duo was received very well by exhibitors and visitors, since the retail stores in Brazil offer all kinds of product mixes revolving around the kid universe. Exhibitors praised the high quality of contacts. It was the first time that Koelnmesse organized FIT 0/16 –The International Trade Show for Baby & Child Wear –and Pueri Expo –The International Trade Fair for Baby & Children Products –simultaneously.

The exhibitors of FIT 0/16 and Pueri Expo were very satisfied with the outcome of the trade fair. They praised both the number and, in particular, the quality of the trade visitors, as well as the amount of time the visitors spent at the fair. The positive response of the exhibitors confirms the concept of the trade fair of bringing together the demand of the top buyers of the Brazilian and South American market with the supply of international high quality products. Clayton Bittencourt, Sales Manager of Bambollina (exhibitor of FIT 0/16): “We are pretty happy with our first participation in the event. We were able to welcome a good customer flow at our booth. The buyers came from new sales regions all over Brazil and from other parts of South America, like Uruguay! We found new prospective clients, as this was our main goal.”

Especially the new trade fair Pueri Expo was very well received by exhibitors and visitors. Ana Carolina Itzaina, director of Oasis Importadora, was pleased to meet the most important visitors from Brazil at Pueri Expo: “I am very thankful, because Koelnmesse brought visitors from every corner of Brazil to São Paulo, from Acre and Porto Alegre to the Northeast. The visitors have decision-making power, so it's very important for us to have contact with them.”

Event programme

Fit 0/16 and Pueri Expo did more than present trends of the sector and bring together the regional demand with the international supply of top products. Thanks to a supporting program tailored for the sector, the trade fair duo expanded its role as an information platform. At the Trend Forum, experts from the sector offered free presentations to exhibitors and visitors and discussed the local market and how to improve sales in children's retail. Speakers from Usefashion and SEBRAE presented their knowledge to the participants on all days of the event. The exhibitors also benefited from consulting services: Inteligência Voulez offered a ‘Box Consultoria’, speed dating with the aim of learning how to modernise fashion brands and marketing. Furthermore, the exhibitors received training from consultant Fernando Lummertz in how to make better use of trade fair participation after the event. The next edition of FIT 0/16 is scheduled to take place.
